Steve as a Director

Steve's first film as a director was the award winning ‘The Students of Springfield Street’, which follows twenty-four hours in the lives of six friends, examining the intricate weave of words, actions and emotions that unknowingly link and change the direction of their lives and how difficult it can be when debt, sickness, lies, drugs, pregnancy, unrequited love and assault weave their way into their ordinary lives. The film's micro-budget was crowdfunded and shot using two RED EPIC 5K cameras in and around Glasgow, Scotland in just 23 days. The film went on to debut at the 2015 Hoosierdance Film Festival, USA and won the Best Feature Film award at the 2015 Aberdeen Film Festival.

Steve’s second feature film ‘Convergence’ was self funded and filmed over 30 days in February and April 2018. Staring Jeremy Theobald (Tenet, Batman Begins, Following) and Nicolette McKeown (Damaged, Mercy Falls), 'Convergence' debuted at Cineworld, Leicester Square, in May 2019, as part of the 2019 British Independent Film Festival where it won BEST FEATURE FILM, whilst also nominated for Best Actor, Best Supporting Actress, Best Supporting Actor and Best Cinematography. 'Convergence' played at numerous film festivals around the world picking up over 20 awards and nominations. This concluded in October 2019 at the Cardiff International Film Festival where 'Convergence' won BEST FEATURE FILM. 'Convergence' had a limited seven-day theatrical release at Cineworld in Glasgow in November 2019 and was release on Amazon Prime in May 2020.

Steve's third feature film was the psychological thriller 'Stalker', staring Saturn Award Nominated Actor Sophie Skelton (Outlander), Welsh BAFTA Winning Actor Stuart Brennan (Risen) and Wrestling Legend Bret 'The Hitman' Hart (WWE). The film was Executive Produced by Golden Globe winning producer Gareth Wiley (Vicky, Cristina, Barcelona); produced by production company Stronghold, written by Chris Watt (The Mire, Bruise) and shot by Director of Photography Simon Stolland (Sumotherhood, Blue Story). 'Stalker' had its World Premiere at The Prince Charles Cinema, Leicester Square, London, as part of Frightfest 2022 and was released in the UK on DVD and VOD in October 2022 and in the United States on March 31st 2023. The film is represented by Kaleidoscope Film Distribution in the UK and by Gravitas in the United States.
